CareNet, a non-profit organization founded by the City of Toledo, ProMedica Health System and Mercy Health Partners has partnered with The Pharmacy Counter to offer “We Care Pricing” for prescriptions medications, medical supplies and home medical equipment.
CareNet provides affordable medical care to low-income uninsured residents of Lucas County. The network includes all hospitals in Lucas County. There are three Pharmacy Counter locations in Northwest Ohio including one on Navarre in Oregon.
Enrollment in CareNet is limited to those whose income doesn’t exceed 200 percent of the poverty level. For example, a household of four which doesn’t have insurance or qualify for government assistance can earn up to $42,000 and be eligible. Call The United Way or log onto www.toledocarenet.org.

Moody’s Investors Service has assigned an A3 rating to the Northwestern Water and Sewer District’s $6.9 million Water Resource Revenue Bonds, Series 2008 and an A3 rating to the district’s $2.85 million water and sewer special assessment bonds, series 2008A.
The revenue bonds are secured by a pledge of net water and sewer system revenues and will fund capital replacement, repairs and maintenance.
The district serves 10,775 water customers and 12,224 sewer customers throughout Wood County including Lake Township, Millbury, Northwood and Luckey.
The Kiwanis Scholarship Golf Outing raised more than $9,200 which will provide scholarships to seniors from Cardinal Stritch, Clay, Lake, Northwood and Waite High schools. Funds will also be used for other community oriented events like “Learn to Swim.”

The National Bank of Oak Harbor and GenoaBank will co-sponsor their 10th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing Friday, September 12 at the Oak Harbor Golf Club. The annual golf scramble provides scholarships to local students planning to major in business at a two or four-year college or university.

The Oregon/Northwood Rotary Club is seeking sponsors and golfers for its annual golf invitational Friday, September 5 at Eagles Landing. The outing raises money for the club’s community commitments including supporting the Challenger Learning Center, YMCA and the American Red Cross.
