carryout in Genoa on S.R. 51 and Reiman and Hellwig roads.

Tina, who manages the store, said the location, next to her husband’s office for Heilman Homes and the convenience of the triangle intersection was one reason to open the store. A desire to own her own business was another.

The store offers lottery, coffees, cappuccinos, fresh donuts, energy drinks munchies and beer and wine. Hours are Monday thru Friday 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Closed on Sunday.

Bay Park Community Hospital was recently awarded a Partner for Change

Award at the Practice Greenhealth Environmental Excellence Awards in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Partner for Change award recognizes health care facilities that continuously improve and expand upon their mercury elimination, waste reduction, and pollution prevention programs. At a minimum, facilities applying for this award must be recycling 10 percent of their total waste, have a mercury elimination program in place with a plan for total elimination, and have developed other successful pollution prevention programs.

received GOLD recognition in this year’s Aster Awards competition for a magazine ad created for Memorial Hospital in Fremont.

The Aster Awards is hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today Magazine and Creative Images, Inc. The program recognizes outstanding healthcare professionals for excellence in their advertising/marketing efforts for the calendar year 2009.

The competition drew some 3,000 entries from across the United States as well as Canada and South America.  Participants competed against similar-sized organizations in their category. Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.

Leaders sought
Sponsors of the 20 Under 40 Leadership Recognition Program are seeking nominations for the 15th annual event that showcases young leaders in Northwest Ohio and Southeast  Michigan.

Opportunity knocks
Brad Delventhal, of Northwood, has joined Rudolph/Libbe Inc. of Walbridge as an account manager.

Delventhal is a graduate of Owens Community College with an associate’s degree in architectural construction, and a 1992 graduate of Lake High School. 

He has 14 years of experience in the construction industry.
