Richard A. Rodriguez, no relation to the head football coach at the University of Michigan although he is an avid fan, has launched his new business called Multi-sport Massage Therapy.
Rodriguez, 41, is a licensed massage therapist specializing in athletic, and relaxation massage. He offers on-site massages at sporting events as well as Swedish relaxation massage in your home.
A life-long Oregon resident, Rodriquez competes in triathlon racing, and has been involved in cross-training for the past 20 years. As an athlete he knows the importance of managing edema, looking for compensation patterns, encouraging healthy scar tissue, and stretching and strengthening.

Louis Ilia has been named banking office manager for Huntington's Northwest Ohio River East Banking Office, announced Sharon Speyer, Regional President. Ilia previously served as a personal banker at various Huntington locations in the greater Toledo area. He resides in Toledo.

NW Ohio’s Piping Industry Training Center has earned statewide recognition for its training programs in the plumbing and pipefitting industry.
The Ohio State Apprenticeship Council presented the center with the 2009 Apprenticeship Achievement Award. This award was given to the registered apprenticeship program in good standing that has demonstrated innovation, continuous improvements with statistical results, and performance outcomes above the standard.
John Brocus, the center’s director, received the award at the recent annual Apprenticeship Conference.
Located in Northwood, the Piping Industry Training Center is committed to serving both labor and management of the piping industry of Northwest Ohio. The multimillion dollar training center is privately funded by contractors dedicated to providing quality apprentice and journeyman training in the practical, technical and customer service aspects of the trade. The center recently completed an expansion to accommodate additional training needed due to growing demand.
Up the ladder
Fremont Federal Credit Union promoted Abby Slemmer, mortgage loan originator, to manager of the West Branch Office. While managing that office, she will retain her responsibilities as mortgage originator as well.
Abby joined the Fremont Federal Credit Union team in May 2008 and brought with her many years of experience in the financial industry.
Gaylord Sheldon, president of the Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce, was
recognized as a Chamber Bright Star by the Northern Ohio Area Chambers of Commerce.
Sheldon was one of 50 chamber members across northern Ohio recognized for their impact of membership, retention, sponsorship, economic development, operations, and/or education. The award was presented at the group’s semi-annual board meeting held October 29 in Cleveland.
