Samsen Furniture will kick off its eight annual Decoration Multiplication program to raise funds for local schools and collect food for area pantries Tuesday, 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

A presentation of $100 participation checks to each local school and the announcement of the best decorated tree award will occur at 7:00. You can gain extra points for your school by bringing non-perishable items to the open house.

Participating schools are: Allen Central Elementary, Brunner, Jerusalem Elementary, Eastwood Middle School, Ottawa River Elementary, Eagle Point Elementary, Rocky Ridge Elementary and Graytown Elementary.

Pantries which will benefit are: Ottawa County Holiday Bureau, Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Pemberville, Luckey Food Pantry, Mustard Seed, Oregon Health & Welfare, Jerusalem Food Pantry, All Saints Church and Perrysburg Bread Basket.

At the clubs

Fritz Haney, Ottawa County Municipal Court Judge, will be the featured speaker at the Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce annual dinner set for Thursday, November 12, 6:00 p.m. at the fire hall in Genoa.

The Coffee Shop, located at 3555 Navarre Ave. in Oregon is hosting the Oregon Small Business coalition meeting Friday, 10:00 am. A night out
Beeker’s General Store in Pemberville will feature three unique jewelry artisans at its “Night Out” Tuesday, 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

The artisans are: Earrings by Suzanna; Beckett Studio and Stoneworks by Stephanie. Wine sampling and treats will be offered and Riverbank Antiques will stay open until 8:00 pm.

The right thing
Lutheran Home is looking for businesses and individuals to decorate Christmas trees and wreathes and donate them for display and for use in a fundraising auction.

Trees will be on display at the home from Thanksgiving to December 15. On December 16, they will be available to the highest bidder during a silent auction which will be held at the home’s holiday reception.
