Oregon mayoral debate will be shown, heard live
The Eastern Maumee Bay Chamber of Commerce will host a City of Oregon Mayoral Debate Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Mercy St. Charles Hospital auditorium.

The event is being sponsored by the chamber, The Press, and WRSC radio, which will broadcast the debate live on the station’s Web site at www.WRSCradio.com.

Creative Video Imagery will also provide live video coverage on www.oregonmayordebate.com and will archive the debate for viewing anytime between now and the election. Mike Jamieson, owner of Creative Video Imagery, said the debate will also be shown periodically on Buckeye Cable’s Channel 58 WMNT.

Both candidates running for mayor, incumbent Marge Brown and challenger Mike Seferian, will answer questions submitted by the members of the chamber, Oregon citizens, and local media.

Admission is free and the event is open to the public, however a ticket is required. For questions, the chamber can be reached at 419-693-5580.


Opportunity knocks
Chris McIntire, a 40-year Woodville resident, has opened a Fremont office for his company Senior Outlook Solutions.

McIntire, an independent financial advisor, also has an office in Perrysburg. He has been in private business since 1991 and decided to open a second office because nearly half of his 200 clients are from the Port Clinton/Fremont area.

McIntire specializes in providing services to retirees and those approaching retirement.

Schools & skills
The Ottawa County Chamber of Commerce has set its training schedule for its Service Excellence Experience Certification Program.

The five sessions will be held on Tuesdays from October 27 through December 1 and include: Customer Service is Inside Out; Modeling Excellence: Customer Service for Managers; Customer Loyalty and Application Dissertation: Action Strategies.
