The Eastern Maumee Bay Chamber of Commerce is seeking entrants for its scarecrow contest to be held in conjunction with the annual steak roast September 16.
The judging categories are: creativity, theme, school spirit and best shameless business promotion.
Contest is open to businesses, non-profits, families or individuals. Each scarecrow must be capable of standing or sitting on its own. There is a minimum size of four feet and all scarecrows must be in good taste.
One winner will be chosen from each division by a panel of celebrity judges. The four winners will be sold to the highest bidder in a live auction to be held at the steak roast.
The event will take place Wednesday, September 16, 6:00 pm at Oak Shade Grove.
Mercy operates seven hospitals including St. Charles Mercy Hospital in Oregon. There are 7.400 employees, 350 medical staff members and revenues of more than $900 million.
Price currently serves as executive vice president and CEO of Sparrow Health System in Lansing, Michigan. Sparrow serves as the primary teaching affiliate of Michigan State University. It has 7,200 employees and 885 medical staff members.
Steven Mickus, current president and CEO of Mercy, will transition into his new role as Catholic Health Partners CEO. Catholic Health Partners is Mercy’s parent company. It operates 32 hospitals in Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky and Pennsylvania.
