Carty Finkbeiner, Toledo mayor, will speak on the Marina District and other East Toledo development such as the Skyway Marina when he appears before the East Toledo Club Thursday, Noon at Cousino’s, Woodville Road.
Mayor Finkbeiner will also talk about the city’s general economic health and its direction for the future. Mayor Finkbeiner and city council have been at odds over the need to layoff police and fire personnel to balance the budget.
The mayor is also the subject of recall effort by a group of businessmen who call themselves Take Back Toledo. The group has garnered enough signatures on a petition to put the issue on the ballot this September.
In response, the mayor’s office has issued this statement, "My only concern at this time is working with City Council and the City's Unions to avoid laying off not one person more than is absolutely necessary to balance the City's budget. That is absolutely the single most important issue in front of the Mayor, Council, and City of Toledo employees."
The public is invited. RSVP to Andrea at 419-691-7651.
