Bay Park Community Hospital has been named a 2008 Compass Award winner by Press Ganey, Associates, Inc. for significant improvement in overall physician satisfaction.

The Press Ganey Compass Award measures health care satisfaction. Bay Park is just one of 34 facilities nationwide to receive this honor. The company’s databases are the largest in the industry, and allow facilities nationwide to benchmark their results against peer organizations.

Press Ganey currently partners with more than 7,000 health care facilities—including over 40 percent of U.S. hospitals—to measure and improve the quality of their care and their bottom line.

OptiVue has added a comprehensive hearing program to its list of services and will offer free hearing screenings December 11 and 12 from 9-4.

OptiVue has been providing eye care to Northwest Ohio since the 1950s It has five area locations including one on Navarre in Oregon.

Harborside Healthcare Perrysburg has changed its name to Perrysburg Care and Rehabilitation Center.
The name change is part of a rebranding effort and was determined by management and employees.

The rehabilitation and nursing center located on SR-795 has not changed owners, according to Mary McConnell, administrator. The change just better reflects the facility’s mission.

A new program to recognize and reward contributions made by healthcare professionals in the Toledo area has been established.

Healthcare Heroes will recognize five professionals who have had an impact on the profession and their communities.

The program is called Healthcare Heroes and is sponsored by various businesses including Gordon Food Service and the Toledo Business Journal.

At the clubs
The Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce will host its Leadership Academy Toledo over 10 weeks beginning January 12. The two-hour classes will be held Monday evenings at the chamber’s offices and cover public service, leadership skills, building sustainable communities, conflict management and ethics in local government.
