Navy Seaman Kenneth C. Wood, brother of William Wood, of Walbridge, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Coast Guard Seaman Daniel DeSelms, son of Ann Gleason, of Oregon, and Jim DeSelms, of Bowling Green, recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N. J.

DeSelms will join 36,000 other men and women who comprise the Coast Guard's workforce.

Army Reserve Maj. John D. Reynolds Jr. served as a support staff member during the 2011 U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Tex.

The major graduated in 1988 from Toledo Central Catholic High School, and received a bachelor's degree in 1993 from Florida A&M University, Tallahassee. He earned a master's degree in 1997 from the University of Toledo.
