OREGON – A witness saw an unknown suspect attempt to pick a lock to gain entry to a garage in the 1500 block of Jersey Rd. on Aug. 17. No entry was made.

• Someone pried open a door to a pole barn in the 5000 block of Corduroy Rd. on Aug. 22 and stole a hitch.

• An unknown suspect claimed to be from the gas company and demanded $250, which victim gave him, in the 2200 block of Starr Ave. on Aug. 11.

• An unknown suspect scammed an elderly victim in the 2700 block of Gladhaven Dr. into putting a credit card in the mailbox then took it on Aug. 24.

• Someone entered a yard in the 4100 block of Brown Rd. on Aug. 20 and took a bending brake used to cut/bend aluminum siding.

• A stereo system, speakers and DVD player were stolen from an apartment in the 1100 block of S. Wheeling St. on Aug. 22.

• Someone threw a brick into a house in the 2700 block of Worth Street on Aug. 29, damaging a screen door and two walls.

• Someone started a fire on N. Coy Road, which burned part of a soy bean field, on Aug. 29.

• Someone took five Ipods from a home during a party in the 500 block of Georgetown Dr. on Aug. 7.

• A 20” boys bike found in a backyard in the 3200 block of Eastmoreland Dr. on Aug. 27.
