Tuning Up For Food
Organizers of the 2012 “Tuning Up For Food” concerts announced last week that they have surpassed their goal, collecting over 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food items to benefit the Sandusky County Food Pantry.
Billy Lee, promoter of the shows, said the great turnouts for the May, June and July concerts helped to meet and exceed their goal.
The concerts, which are held in conjunction with the Fremont Flea Market, have become a popular event during the summer months at the fairgrounds, with all of the entertainers donating their time and performances for the shows. In addition to contributions of food, monetary donations were also collected for the Food Pantry.
Because of preparations for the 2012 Sandusky County Fair, there will be no Flea Market or "Tuning Up For Food" events in August, however, weekend concerts are being scheduled in September and October, weather permitting.
