Jennifer Buxton was re-elected in October to serve a second two-year term on the WSOS Board of Directors.

Buxton was elected at a public meeting at the WSOS Child Development Center in Port Clinton. She joined the WSOS board in 2007 to serve a two-year term that expires in December.

Each year, a public meeting is conducted to elect a representative from the low-income population of Ottawa County to the agency’s board of directors. Currently, there are two such representatives – Buxton and Rebecca Martin, also of Port Clinton. Martin will be up for re-election November 2009.

The Board of Directors of WSOS Community Action Commission serves Wood, Sandusky, Ottawa and Seneca counties. Each county has six representatives on the board. In addition to the two low-income representatives, there are two county commissioners’ representatives; and two representatives from community interests groups. These groups are determined by the board.
