Essay contest winners
Winners have been announced in the Valentine’s Day essay contest sponsored by Ottawa County Senior Centers and Robinson Walker Funeral Homes.
The theme of the contest was, “The Worst Date Ever.” Eight essays were submitted, representing all corners of the county. Winners include Anne Parker, Put-in-Bay, first place; Doris Van Allen, Dabury, second place; Eileen Glesser, Genoa, third place; The winning stories will be published in the April edition of the “Senior Moments” newsletter, which can be found on the Senior Resources website, www.co.ottawa.oh.us/ocseniorresources/.
Robinson Walker Funeral Homes will be delivering the prizes, which include $100, $50 and $25 gift cards, respectively.
Raffle benefits Relay for Life
Ottawa County Relay for Life is raffling four tickets to a Toledo Mud Hens home game.
Raffle tickets are $10 and 71 winners will be drawn at a party March 25 at 6 p.m. in the basement of St. Paul UCC, 165 Toussaint St., Oak Harbor. Winners need not be present, however, those attending will be able to select tickets from the list of available Mud Hens games.
The party will include free hot dogs, chips and popcorn, as well as silent auctions. Proceeds raised will benefit Ottawa County Relay for Life.
