Playground fundraiser
At the end of the 2010 school year, it was determined that the aging St Boniface Catholic School playground was not safe and was in need of repair.

With the school unable to afford a replacement for the “Eagle’s Nest,” the main playground structure, the St. Boniface Support Group submitted grant requests for playground improvements. Grants from the Ottawa County Community Foundation and the Ottawa Sandusky Seneca County Joint Solid Waste Management District will provide more than half the funding for the new playground equipment.

As part of his Eagle Scout leadership service project, St. Boniface alumna Quinton Babcock chose to help his former school and parish with their playground. After receiving approval from the Boy Scouts, Babcock began fundraising and coordinating dates, demolition and construction.

Quinton is an alumnus of St. Boniface School, an active parishioner of St. Boniface Church and altar server, a member of the Youth Group and Youth Choir, and is a group discussion leader for religious education classes.

The St. Boniface Support Group is currently holding a raffle to raise funds for Quinton’s Eagle Scout Project. Tickets for the raffle for a 1998 Ford Ranger are $25. Only 300 tickets will be sold. The raffle will become a 50/50 raffle if 300 tickets are not sold.

To purchase a ticket or provide help in some other way for Quinton’s Eagle Scout project, call the St. Boniface School office at 419-898-1340, the parish office at 419-898-1389 or  Quinton Babcock at 419-341-3169.
