Tim Sherman, owner of Signature Harley-Davidson and Toledo Harley-Davidson, was on hand at the recent Boys and Girls Clubs of Toledo annual Christmas Party, where he presented a donation for $900.

The funds were raised from a September ride organized by a group of volunteers initiated by Toledo Mayor Mike Bell and sponsored by a group of local business owners, including Signature Harley-Davidson.

Caroling is not dead
On Dec. 14 – one of the coldest nights of the year – New Heights Fellowship Church gathered a group of diehard carolers to go door-to-door to spread holiday cheer.

The carolers visited about 80 homes, handing out small bags of home-baked cookies. “Everyone that we encountered was blessed by our visit. A number of people were very grateful to know that such things still go on in East Toledo. We will definitely be doing this again,” said Pastor Dan Stevenson.

“It’s true that sometimes people get lonely at Christmas time – more than any other time of the year,” Pastor Stevenson said. “As human beings and Americans, we are given the awesome responsibility of looking out for our neighbors. The church has the responsibility to make the members of the community aware of the great need to give the gift of caring.”

New Heights Fellowship recently celebrated its third year at its location at 609 and 613 Main Street. The church offers audio DVD recordings of services and/or messages at no cost. Service times are Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
