Musial director named The Teutonia Mannerchor and Teutonia Damenchor, German-American choruses have elected Eric D. Graber to the position of Musical Director.
Graber, a resident of Toledo’s Old West End, serves as an adjunct music faculty member at Adrian College and Owens Community College. He also has a private voice studio. Singcerely Studios.
Graber holds a master’s degree from the University of Tulsa and bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo, both in vocal performance with additional studies towards a doctorate in vocal performance at the University of Colorado-Boulder.
He has sung in a wide range of roles with various opera companies, community and university choruses and church choirs. He currently sings with the Toledo Swiss Singers, Collingwood Presbyterian Church and Temple Shomer Emunin.
He will be responsible for providing artistic leadership and helping build the level of excellence for the two German-language based community adult choruses. The Teutonia choruses rehearse Monday evenings at Oak Shade Hall, 3624 Seaman Rd., in Oregon. Members live in Lucas, Wood, Ottawa, Hancock and Monroe (Mich.) counties.
Special Olympics fundraiser A record crowd of more than 280 supporters attended the 13th Annual Wood County Special Olympics Prime Rib and Crab Fest dinner and auction held Nov. 13 at Greystone Hall in Perrysburg.
In addition to the dinner, the event also included a live auction of baked goods as well as a silent auction of more than 100 donated items. Members of three local Knights of Columbus Councils from Perrysburg and Walbridge attended and presented checks totaling over $2,000 for the Special Olympics program.
