World Series of Chili

The East Toledo Senior Activities Center’s Second Annual “World Series of Chili” chili cook-off held Oct. 16 drew 21 entries and more than 150 “tasters.”

Dick Fisher took the top prize in the Celebrity Judging category. Barb Shimman was awarded second place and Carrie Norris received third place. The People’s Choice award went to Jim Bolander.

Celebrity Judges included Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur; Jesus Angel, of El Camino Real; Pegg Doerr; Pastor Bob Noble; Dave Toth and Katherine Bibish.

The event also included 50/50 raffles, a Chinese Auction with 31 different gift baskets donated by individuals and area businesses, and an artwork raffle painted by Lee Hammack. Music was provided by Steve Perlaky DJ Services.

Winners have been announced in the Genoa Kiwanis Halloween Costume Contest. They include:
