Membership banquet set
The Elmore Historical Society will hold its 29th annual membership banquet April 4 at 6 p.m. at the Elmore American Legion.

The guest speaker will be “Mark Twain”/Eric Rothsinger, from Van Wert. A dinner of ham and baked chicken will be served. Members are reminded to bring a guest and a door prize. Tickets are available at Rick’s 5 & 10 Antiques through 4:30 p.m. March 27.

Deputies lauded
On Feb. 14, deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol and Underwater Response Team were recognized for their efforts after an aircraft crash in Sept. 2007 off Kelley’s Island.

The deputies were recipients of the Dr. Frank Foss EMS Award presented to emergency personnel for their performance on difficult or unusual runs. The awards were presented at the “Partners for Life Conference” sponsored by St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, The University of Toledo and St. Rita’s Life Flight.

Food Town reunion
A reunion for Food Town employees will be held May 2, 2-10 p.m. at The Moose, 226 S. Byrne Rd., Toledo.
