Republican Women’s Club
The Ottawa Co. Republican Women’s Club will hold its “Fall Event” Sept. 17 at the Port Clinton Elks Club.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with snacks and hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Speakers will begin at 6:30 p.m. Congressman Jim Jordan, of the 4th Congressional District will be the first speaker. Invitations have been extended to other candidates and elected officials as well.
The event is open to the community, including men and younger voters. Reservations may be made by sending a check for $20 per person payable to Pam Fredrick, Treasurer, OCRW, 133 E Main St., Oak Harbor, OH 43449.

Retired teachers to meet
Members of the Lucas County Retired Teachers Association will meet Sept. 27 at noon at the Sylvania Country Club, 5201 Corey Rd.
The guest speaker will be a representative from the State Teachers Retirement System. Those attending are asked to bring kitchen and cleaning items to be donated to Focus, which provides shelter for the homeless.
Menu items include a choice of Kentucky brown turkey, hot open-face sliced beef or vegetarian eggplant parmesan. Send $15.75 with a lunch choice to Nan Fretter, 7803 Shaftesbury, Sylvania OH 43560 by Sept. 21.
