Veterans Expo set
Owens Community College’s Office of Veterans Services will honor American service men and women at a free Veterans Expo Wednesday, Nov. 7

The Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Audio/Visual Classroom Center rooms 125-128. All activities are free and the public is encouraged to attend.

Signups set
Boys and girls ages 5-14 who want to play coach-pitch/t-ball, little league baseball or softball can register Nov. 4 and Nov. 11 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Josie Reinhart Community Center at the corner of Oram and Wales roads.

Registration will also be held Nov. 5 to 9 from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the municipal office. The deadline is Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. Parents must accompany children to register.

Hydrant flushing schedule
The Northwestern Water and Sewer District’s Maintenance Department will flush and test fire hydrants Oct. 22 through Nov. 30 in the area of Lake Township served by Oregon water, parts of Northwood and the village of Millbury.

Eastwood One Acts
The Eastwood High School Music/Drama Organization will present an evening of one-act plays Oct. 11 and 13 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Historic Pemberville Opera House.

The performance will consist of a staging of Mark Twain’s satire, “The Diary of Adam and Eve” and the farce, “The Real Inspector Hound,” by Tom Stoppard.

Terra offers 8-week term
Even though fall semester is well underway at Terra State Community College, it’s not too late to attend classes this year.

Terra is offering an eight-week term that begins on Oct. 17, and there are still a few openings in computer, English, technical writing, math and speech courses, as well as technical courses like blueprint reading and welding.
