Picnic lunch benefit
Drake Current is a typical 2-year old, except for the seizures that wrack his tiny body, slow his development and threaten his life.

An ability dog would help the Perrysburg toddler by sensing his seizures and alerting his parents, but these special animals are expensive to train and own.

To help Drake’s family raise the needed funds, Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elmore, is sponsoring a picnic lunch benefit July 11 beginning at 11 a.m. The menu features a grilled burger or a hot dog, a salad, chips, homemade pie, and a scoop of ice cream for a requested donation of $5. Larger gifts will be gratefully received.

Additional goodies will be available for purchase until sold out. The church is applying for matching funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Grace is located on SR 51 (Woodville Road) just a mile north of Elmore, at the intersection of Witty Road. For directions or more information on this event, call the church office at 419/862-3630 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
