Army Pvt. Madaline J. Kanous has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

The daughter of Charles Bocook, Oregon and Jennifer Smith, of Sylvania, she is a 2009 graduate of Sylvania Northview High School.
