Air Force Airman Samantha L. Haney graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Tex.

She is the daughter of Lisa Tower, of Erie, Mich., and Marshal Houle, of Genoa.

Pvt. Brad Auger, son of Brad and Michelle Auger, of Oregon, has left for basic training in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning, Ga.

He is a 2010 graduate of Clay High School.
