Navy Seaman Apprentice Nathaniel E. Kieffer, son of Lisa Fields, of Mentor on the Lake, Ohio and William Kieffer, of Elmore, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Kieffer is a 2005 graduate of Mentor High School.

Air Force Airman Jacob D. Winters graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Tex.

The son of Douglas and Connie Winters, of Genoa, Winters graduated in 2010 from Genoa Area High School.

Air Force Airman Brian McGinnis graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Tex.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

The son of Brian and Susan McGinnis, of Genoa, McGinnis is a 2010 graduate of Genoa High School.

Air Force Airman Robert J. Duvendack graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Tex.

A 2005 graduate of Roy C. Start High School in Toledo, he is the son of Jeff Duvendack, of Oregon, and Donna Duvendack, of Toledo.
