ET2 Benjamin Perrine, Petty Officer 2nd Class on the USS Ronald Reagan electronics technician in the Reactor Department, was named Sailor of the Day Aug. 25, 2009.

Perrine, a 2006 graduate of Genoa High School, left for boot camp in August 2006. He finished nuclear propulsion school near Charleston SC in May 2008. He is on his second deployment.

The USS Ronald Reagan has two nuclear reactors on ship that provide the ship’s power, the propulsions that launch jets, and provide drinking water for the 5000+ on board. The ship provides air support for ground forces in Afghanistan.

As Sailor of the Day, he “won'” a phone call home.
