Lenten Fish Fry Feb. 19, March 5, March 19 and April 2, 5-8 p.m., VFW Post #4906, 2161 Consaul St. Lake Erie perch, shrimp, frog legs, French fries, coleslaw and homemade desserts. Carryouts welcome.

“Be My Secret Valentine” Feb. 9, 4 p.m., Birmingham Branch Library, 203 Paine Ave. Enjoy sweet treats, make a craft and learn how to send someone a special super-secret Valentine message.

“Continuing Knitting: Towel and Washcloth” Feb. 9, 2-4 p.m., Locke Branch Library, 703 Miami St. Beginning-intermediate skill level. Supplies needed: 5 mm aluminum knitting needles and 4-ply knitting cotton.  Free. Registration is required by calling 419-259-5310 to register for programs.

Teen Space Feb. 9, 4 p.m., Birmingham Branch Library, 203 Paine Ave. Teens are invited to play games on the Wii, enjoy a snack, make crafts and more. Call 419-259-5310.

Black History Month Celebration for grades K-5, Feb. 2, 4 p.m., Birmingham Branch Library, 203 Paine Ave. Learn about George Washington Carver and how he unlocked the “mysteries of the peanut.” Make a pinecone/peanut butter bird feeder.
