Ice Cream Social June 2, 4-7 p.m., Lutheran Home at Toledo, 131 N. Wheeling St. Take a stroll around the cake walk with the Cake Walkin’ Jass Band. Supplemental funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Toledo Farmer’s Market “Birdhouses for Schoolhouses” Silent Auction of decorated birdhouses June 12, 9 a.m. to noon, 525 Market St., downtown. Proceeds benefit Veggie U., an organization dedicated to nutritional and agricultural education of fourth-graders.

TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) welcomes new members who want to lose weight. The group meets Mondays 7-8 p.m. at the East Toledo Senior Center, 1001 White St. Weigh-ins from 6-6:45 p.m. Annual membership is $26.50.

Lucas Co. Retired Teachers Meeting May 18 at the Toledo Country Club. Speaker Mike O'Rourke, from Black Diamond Gardens, will discuss "Hydrangeas, Flowering Bushes and Perennials." Bring books or a cash donation for Read for Literacy. Reservations to Kathleen Brunt, 3460 Shadywood Circle, Lambertville MI 48144 as soon as possible.

Block Watch 410-M (formerly 422-A) East Toledo/Raymer School area, meetings are held at the Memorial United Church of Christ, 301 Starr Ave. at Plymouth Street on the second Thursday of each month from 6-7 p.m., with the exception of the Annual Open House, which will be held from 1-4 p.m. June 19 at Burnett Park (Starr Park), corner of Greenwood Avenue and Spring Grove. Next meeting May 13. Call 419-697-9975 to arrange for accommodations for those with disabilities or to arrange for coloring supplies for children attending with adults.
