At its 57th Annual Meeting and Banquet, the Ottawa Soil and Water Conservation District recognized the Buhrow family as the “Friend of the District,” an honor given to an organization, business or individual that is very conservation and agriculture minded.
A crowd of 280 looked on as Bud, Gary and Bob Buhrow were lauded for the support they have given the Annual Fifth-Grade Conservation Field Day over the past 30 years. Rich Thorbahn, Soil and Water Conservation District chairman made the announcement with a presentation depicting the Buhrow’s business operation, which was opened in 1918 in a small building on Toussaint North Road. The four-generation family business continued to thrive and in 1991 moved to a more central location in Gibsonburg. Buhrow’s Implement was purchased by Findlay Implement in 2006.
