Davoli heads mayor’s association
Fostoria Mayor John Davoli has been selected to be president of the Wood County Mayor’s Association for 2010. Mayor John Quinn of Bowling Green is vice president and Custar Mayor Linda Bechstein is secretary/treasurer.

The association held its spring meeting last week in the Village of Wayne.

Energy grants for county
Wood County is to receive four grants to utilize energy efficiency retrofits to county buildings and facilities:

• $173,097 to replace boilers at the county jail.

• $512,845 to replace windows in the county administration building that have broken frames.

• $220,348 to replace the boiler system in the county courthouse.

• $154,081 to replace windows, doors, and insulation at four county water pumping and wastewater plants.

Governor Ted Strickland announced the grant awards last week. In all, 28 Ohio projects are receiving $15 million through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant: Local Governments program.

Tax split discussed
While Pemberville Village Council was approving the budget for 2010, councilmembers also discussed changing the 40/60 split of the income tax and the village’s current financial situation.

Council considered but took no action on a suggestion to reduce the amount allocated to permanent improvement funds – the water and sewer funds in particular.

Councilmembers decided to leave the split at its present ratio and to reconsider it later in the year if needed.
