The Genoa school board has scheduled a special meeting for March 8 at 5:30 p.m.
Bill Nye, district treasurer, said the board plans to award contacts for the construction of a new elementary school building, which is being partially funded by the Ohio School Facilities Commission.
Preliminary work on the building has already started.
Nye said awarding of the construction contracts was delayed after the OSFC objected to a subcontractor that would have been used by the contractor bidding for the general trades contract.
Bid packages were opened Dec. 23 and were about $1.4 million less than the board and administration were expecting.
