Eastwood school officials anticipate refinancing bonds that were originally issued to build an addition to the high school will save the district about $200,000 over the remaining years of the bonds.
The school board Monday also authorized the sale of bonds to participate in a state energy savings project.
The board plans to replace all of the lighting in the schools with more energy efficient systems and to replace the boilers, remove asbestos in the boiler room, and upgrade the univents in the high school building.
The projected cost is $738,000, which the district expects to recoup through savings in energy costs.
