A hearing is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2010 for the sentencing of a former member of the Harris-Elmore Fire Department.

Ryan Watson, who was a chief of the department’s Emergency Medical Service division, entered a guilty plea in Ottawa County Common Pleas Court to stealing funds from department organizations.

Mark Mulligan, county prosecutor, said Watson has agreed to make restitution of nearly $33,000 – an amount agreed upon by his attorney and officials of the fire department.

Mulligan said Watson wasn’t indicted because he cooperated with investigators.
