Voters in Ottawa County may cast absentee ballots at the board of elections until Nov. 3 during office hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Saturday Oct. 31, from 8:30 to noon.

Ballots may also be mailed to voters. An application can be printed from the board Website, www.co.ottawa.oh.us.

The board office is located at 8444 West State Route, Oak Harbor.

Court open house
The Wood County Juvenile Court hosted an open house and annual meeting Sept. 16 for county school administrators and service providers – the 24th consecutive year the court has held an open house.

Judge David Woessner said the event is an “excellent vehicle …to discuss ways to provide the best possible assistance and service to youth and families throughout Wood County.”

Court management grad
Jennifer Wilkins, Ottawa Courts Clerk of Courts, recently graduated from the Court Management Program, which is offered through a partnership between the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Judicial College and the National Center for State Courts Institute for Court Management.

The management program addresses training needs of court leaders.

Tech update for board
Neal Barrett, technololgy director  at the  Benton-Carroll-Salem School District, gave school board members a presentation of the district’s updated Website at the board’s last meeting.

“The new format of the Website allows designated individuals to update their particular areas of the Website which ensures the most up-to-date information  is available to district residents,” he said.

The Website address is www.bcs.k12.oh.us.

 Barrett and Scott Schulte, Virtual Learning Academy instructor, also updated board members on the district’s technology initiatives.
