The Ottawa County commissioners have approved an annexation request by the Schedel Foundation to annex 36.12 acres in Harris Township  - the site of the Schedel Arboretum and Gardens - to the Village of Elmore.

Village council has approved a survey map of the acreage to be annexed. The village has extended sewer lines to the site and the annexation is linked to the agreement to provide the utility service.

Financial report award
State Auditor Mary Taylor has recognized the Northwestern Water & Sewer District with the Making Your Tax Dollars Count award for the district’s fiscal 2008 audit.

Criteria for the award include completing a comprehensive annual financial report, have no findings or issues present in the audit report, and have no other financial concerns involving the entity.

Bid proposal
The Genoa school board has scheduled a special session for Aug. 14 at 7:30 a.m. to consider a construction contract bid for the stadium restroom from D & R. Construction.

The board will hold its regular monthly meeting Aug. 18 at  6 p.m. at the administration building.

Meeting change
The Ottawa Soil and Water Conservation District will meet Sept. 8 at 7:30 a.m. instead of 8:30 a.m. due to scheduling conflicts.
