Lake Twp. – Two men were charged with soliciting an undercover police officer at area truckstops.
Larry B. Roper, 29, South Bend, Indiana, and Michael J. Guth, 33, Green Bay, Wisc., were charged May 20 at the Petro and Stony Ridge Inn truckstops respectively.
• William W. Hengel, 23, Kenmore, New York, was charged May 24 with theft after allegedly taking food items from the Pilot Truckstop.
• Timothy J. Brown, 37, Lorain, O. was charged May 23 with criminal trespassing at the Truckstops of America.
• A resident of Railroad Street May 26 reported the theft of a Mercury outboard motor, boat battery, cables, speakers, and a bench seat. Value $$6,000.
• The Pilot Truckstop May 23 reported a drive-off theft of $12.24 worth of gasoline.
