Laity appointed
At their Jan. 10 meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Harris-Elmore Public Library voted unanimously to appoint Amy Laity as Library Director.

Laity replaces Georgiana Huizenga, who will retire March 31. Huizenga has been director at the Harris-Elmore branch since February 1993 and was previously manager of the Walbridge Branch of the Wood County Public Library. She will have 41 years in library service when she retires.

Laity has been the manager of the Genoa Branch Library since February 2005 and was appointed assistant director in March 2003. She received a bachelor’s degree from Miami University and a Master’s of Library Science from Kent State University. She will assume her duties April 1.
