Conservation camp The All-Ohio Junior Conservation Camp, held at 4-H Camp Palmer near Harrison Lake State Park in Fayette, Ohio is scheduled for June 8 to 11.
The popular camp is open to youths from age 8 (third grade) through 14 (finishing the eighth grade) living in the tri-state area.
This year’s theme is “Camp is UnBUGlievable,” Campers will explore how insects, trees, the environment and nature affect their daily lives. They will also have the opportunity to climb high ropes, hike, swim and canoe, along with a host of traditional camp activities including crafts, evening dances and campfire programs.
The $120 camp fee covers all program supplies for the four-day, three-night event, including meals, overnight accommodation, a t-shirt and activities.
Campers are supervised by a team of trained teen counselors, adult staff, and a nurse who is in camp throughout the week. Early registration is encouraged. The deadline to sign up is May 25.
The camp is sponsored in cooperation with the Soil and Water Conservation Districts and Ohio State University Extension offices of Northwest Ohio.

Monthly ag breakfast Marketing expert Phillip Farmer, founder of Farmer, Lumpe & McClelland Advertising Agency, will be the speaker at the monthly Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum May 10 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Agricultural Incubator Foundation at 13737 Middleton Pike (SR 582), Bowling Green.
The program will begin at 8 a.m. with informal networking hosted by the Center for Innovative Food Technology (CIFT) at the Agricultural Incubator Foundation.
Farmer’s discussion will be on, “The Business and Life of Rural America.” The cost is $10 per person (cash or check at the door), which includes breakfast.
