Jeff Dierksheide, of Pemberville, was selected as a winner in the America’s Farmers Grow Communities program, which gives farmers the opportunity to win $2,500 for a local nonprofit organization. The program is sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.
Dierksheide designated Eastwood FFA as the donation recipient.
David Little, FFA chapter advisor, expressed appreciation and thanked Monsanto for its commitment to the community. He said that the chapter would use the donation to purchase transportation for a summer tour.
The Monsanto Fund expects to invest more than $3 million in local communities. Visit www.growcommunities.com to view a complete list of winners.
