Clay, Northwood on top of 2008 gridiron stat chart

Undefeated and state-ranked Genoa may be getting all the publicity as it continues on a playoff journey, but locally the top offensive individual numbers go to Clay and Northwood.

Of course, the Comets and Eastwood Eagles have high numbers, too, especially when counting the numbers of athletes that can make plays and get on the gridiron stat board.

Fremont Speedway crowned Byron Reed (410 sprints), Stuart
Brubaker (305 sprints) and Jim McGrath (dirt trucks) the 2008 champions
during the annual awards banquet Saturday, Nov. 1.

Brubaker, a Gibsonburg High grad from Helena, was joined in Fremont’s top 10 lists by fellow Gibsonburg racer Craig Mintz and Woodville racer Andy Maynard.
