Caleb Zoltani isn't going to go around bragging about the hole-in-one he shot

July 29 at Hidden Hills Golf Course.

"He's shy, and golf kind of fits his personality," said Caleb's father, Doug.

Caleb, 12, who lives in Millbury, used a junior driver to shoot a hole-in-one on the 135-yard No. 14 hole. He is the youngest golfer to ever shoot a hole-in-one at Hidden Hills and he is the third golfer to do so this season, joining Kay Soltesz and Thomas Schmeltz.

Hidden Hills presented Zoltani with an eight-inch trophy.

"I was happy I got a hole-in-one," Zoltani said.

Mayes picks up third 410 sprint victory at Fremont Speedway
Thursday, 06 August 2009 16:17

The full moon was last week, but it looked like it appeared again Saturday, Aug.

1 at Fremont Speedway, as there were several nasty crashes. But when the dust settled, Bucyrus, Ohio's Brock Mayes picked up his third 410 sprint victory of the season on Kistler Engines Night.

Scoring his second victory of 2009 at Fremont was Bradner, Ohio's Nate Dussel in the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints, while Cory Ward grabbed the lead coming out of turn four for the checkered when Dan Hennig lost power, to score his fourth win of the year in the Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks.

Mayes, who took the point lead at "The Track That Action Built," used the fast high side to overtake David Harrison on lap 16 and then flexed his muscles to pull away to the victory aboard his J&F Construction, Mansfield Cement, Kinn Brothers Heating and Cooling, Mortiz Concrete backed #11B.
