Chris Bassitt is a redshirt sophomore on the Akron University baseball Team. Last season Bassitt earned a 1-2 record in 2008-09, registering the most saves on the team with seven on the year, ranking him second on the all-time UA single season list ahead of Dan Swallie (six, 2003)…In 23 appearances Bassitt’s ERA of 3.52 was second-lowest among active relievers…Bassitt logged 30.2 innings pitched on the season, firing an impressive 34 strikeouts on the year…Held opposing batters to a team-low .184 average, which ranked fifth among pitchers in the Mid-American Conference...Threw 16.2 innings (Apr. 4-May 10) of relief without allowing a run…Tossed 2.1 innings in 8-6 victory over Eastern Michigan (Apr. 4), picking up a pair of strikeouts to record first career win. Kurt Wolff is a junior on the Notre Dame College Wrestling Team.  As a freshman, Wolff was 12-11, as a sophomore this past season he was 21-12. Wolff's team is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation. Cory Hornyak recently transferred to Tiffin University from Youngstown State University where he was on the baseball team. While at Youngstown State he played in 67 games, starting in 33 of those.  He was an outfielder on that team and did some pitching as well. He had seven appearances on the mound. In the summer after his first year at YSU he was named Most Valuable Player of the National Amateur Baseball Federation College World Series playing for the Ohio Monarchs. Blair Skilliter is a freshman on the No. 1 ranked D-III football team, the Mount Union College Purple Raiders.  Skilliter is a running back that was on the playoff roster and was seeing time. In Mt. Sam Schleivert is a freshman on the junior varsity soccer team at Capital University.  Capital's varsity program finished this past season ranked in the top 25 nationally. You can follow his progress here:  http://www.capital.edu/5611/.

Nick Purdue is on the wrestling team at Ohio University. He is a redshirt sophomore and last season finished with a mark of 18-13, tied for the second-most wins on the team...Compiled a 16-10 record at 174 pounds and went 2-3 at 184 ... Placed fourth at the MAC Championships at 174...Won first place in the freshman/sophomore division at the Michigan State Open...Placed fifth at the Reno Tournament of Champions, going 6-2 ... Posted a 6-7 record in duals, including a 2-1 mark in league action...Named Co-MAC Wrestler of the Week on Dec. 23 ... Finished 12-6 overall in tournament competition. Shana Szypka is a junior on the University of Toledo Rockets softball team.  In 2009: Started 11 of the 19 games she appeared in on the mound…Led the team with a 3.93 ERA…Second among Rocket pitchers in total innings (82), complete games (4), and strikeouts (30)…Threw a complete game against Western Michigan, facing 28 batters and striking out four (4/4).  In 2008: Appeared in 16 games on the mound and made seven starts...Posted a 6-3 record... Pitched 27 innings and struck out 27...Threw two complete games... Delaney Talmage is a junior at the University of Tiffin and is a second baseman/catcher for the Lady Dragons on the softball team.  She is a criminal justice major and plans on working as a juvenile probation officer.  You can follow her progress here: http://www.tiffin.edu/athletics/women/softball/.

Cody Katschke is a freshman at Owens and on the soccer team. Katschke played defensive midfielder this season for Coach Art Johnson. He started all 22 games and scored two goals. Chelsea Nissen is a sophomore on the Baldwin Wallace volleyball team.  Nissen is a two-year letter winner and starter.  She finished second on the team in 2009 with 158 kills and second on the team with 42 blocks in 2008. She had15 kills vs. Muskingum on Oct. 15, 2008, 23 digs at Muskingum on Oct. 24, 2009, and three block solos vs. Centre (Ky.) on Sept. 20, 2008.
