Coach: Joe Gutilla, second year, 1-9.
Last year: 1-9 (1-5 Toledo Area Athletic Conference).
Forecast: After posting back-to-back 1-9 seasons, Cardinal Stritch’s opponents are probably already marking the Cardinals down as a “sure” win in 2010.
Gutilla, a veteran coach with 37 years of experience at the high school and college levels, is confident that a veteran senior class will make sure Stritch gives its TAAC and non-conference opponents all they can handle.

Coach: Mike May, third year, 6-14.
Last year: 4-6 (3-4 Sandusky Bay Conference).
Forecast: May’s first season and a half got off to a rocky start, but the third-year Rockets coach is betting that the experience his players gained over the last two seasons will pay off in 2010.
“We were able to gain some momentum at the end of last season and we carried that with us through the offseason,” May said. “This will be our seniors’ third year in our system and they are providing excellent leadership.”

Last Year: 7-3 (4-2, SLL)
Forecast: The Flyers are poised for a big season on their new field if they can fill some key holes on both lines and at wide receiver.

Coach: Steve Reser, first year
Last year: 3-7 (1-5, SLL)
Forecast: Reser, who replaces Matt Harp, has inserted new offensive and defensive schemes this season for the Golden Bears.
Reser previously served as offensive coordinator for five years at Seneca East, one year at Tiffin Columbian and three years as the wide receivers coach at Heidelberg College.
“We will be in several shotgun, one-back formations on offense,” Reser said, “and on the defensive end we will be running a four-man front with multiple backfield looks. We want to be 50-50 run/pass (ratio), which is different from the 90-10 they did before. We’re more of a spread attack.”
