Detroit Tiger manager and Perrysburg native Jim Leyland will be guest speaker for the 2009 Tigers/Toledo Mud Hens Fandemonium.

The Mud Hens and the Catholic Youth Organization have announced that they have formed a partnership and say they would like all baseball fans to mark the date on your calendar – Wednesday, January 21, 2009 – as they present:

“Mud Hens Fandemonium to benefit the 16th Annual Monsignor Jerome E. Schmit Youth Foundation Dinner”

BOWLING GREEN — The cold winds rattling through the skeletal trees surrounding Doyt Perry Stadium on the Bowling Green State University campus forewarned that the fall football season would soon give way to winter weather.

Though they had hoped the season would end with a Division IV state championship, the streaking Comets would fall from their sky-high season eight days later in a heartbreaking 42-34  loss to Kettering Alter.

Toledo Arena Sports, Inc. and the Toledo Zoo are pleased to announce that Wally The Walleye™ has become the official mascot of the Toledo Walleye Hockey Club.

Wally will be available for interviews at a press conference today at 11:00 am at the Lake Erie Exhibit in the Toledo Zoo’s Aquarium but don’t hold your breath for much of a verbal response to the news.

The easiest way to spot Wally will be the white spot located on his caudal fin.
