It seems like – due to Mother Nature – summer just began. But fall is just around the corner and that means the yearly switch from Friday night racing to Saturday events for Attica Raceway Park.

With only four shows remaining in 2014, “Ohio’s Finest Racing Speedplant” still has plenty of fun and excitement left. It began Aug. 16 on WNWO NBC Toledo Channel 24/Culy Contracting Night with the 410 sprints going for $3,000 to win with the UMP Late Models, and 305 sprints and dirt trucks were also in action.

Kistler Racing Products will present the Mark Keegan Classic Season Championship Night on Saturday, Aug. 23. Double points will be on the line in all four divisions with the 410 sprints gunning for $3,000 to win.

This fall Woodmore will be welcoming a new head football coach and math teacher, Brian Spicer. Spicer has been a head coach in football for 22 years and a school teacher for 19 years and he brings valuable experience in both.

Spicer grew up in Massillon and he says football has been an important part of his life since he was young. He strives to show how football mirrors life because it provides the platform and framework for teaching young people that true success is the result of leadership, teamwork and effort. The challenges and opportunities and the impact of the game of football brings to a school and community something Spicer loves.

“I teach and coach because it is my passion. I enjoy helping others and serving my community and strive to do so by providing a positive learning environment that allows our young people to grow,” said Spicer.
