Bill Sine has probably played more golf in his lifetime than Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods combined.

"We try to play a different golf course every day - Hidden Hills, Fostoria, Detwiler, some courses up in Michigan," Sine said. "I'm a pretty fair golfer. I play all the time. Last week I played every day. We played 27 holes (Tuesday) at Sycamore. I go to Vegas a couple times a year and play out there. I go to Florida in the winter time and play golf there.

"I used to like to fish a lot, but now I golf. I try to play every other day or every day, depending on how my schedule is. It's comfortable out there, relaxing. No hustle and bustle."

Clay graduate Patrick Martin is in good spirits these days.

The 6-1, 195-pound center fielder/pitcher, who played baseball as a redshirt freshman at Bowling Green State University last spring, had to sit out the 2008 season after having Tommy John arm surgery in May of that year.

Martin is spending this summer playing outfield for the Lake Erie Monarchs of the 10-team Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. The league is for players age 18-23 who are still playing college ball.

"My arm is feeling good, the elbow is feeling good," said Martin, 20. "I have no pain when I throw. The shoulder feels good. The rehab is tough with this, but I've been blessed to be able to come back and throw again without any pain. It was a long trip and it's still not over."

Eastwood will fill that hole by hosting Northwest Ohio Athletic League power Patrick Henry in a non-league contest October 23.

PH has 11 state playoff appearances, including one state championship in 2005. The Patriots have a string of seven consecutive playoff appearances in the running, dating back to 2002. Gridiron contests between PH and its Henry County rival, Liberty Center, in NWOAL contests and the playoffs have become almost legendary in Northwest Ohio football lore.
