Last Thursday, the District 7 all-star match was played at Otsego with plenty of local talent qualified to participate.
The top 16 vote getters that were selected by coaches in their respective divisions played two games.
In Division II, the voters not only chose five Eastwood players to the District 7 team, Eastwood Coach Donna Schuessler was a runner-up for the Coach of the Year Award.
Eagle players chosen include two first team selections — seniors Stacy Kotula and Carrie Moenter. Eastwood senior Brooke Albright is a second team choice, and senior Katie Schuessler and freshman Courtney Rolf are honorable mention choices.
In D-III, three local players made first team, one each from three different schools. They include Genoa senior Alexa Ansell, who was chosen the Suburban Lakes League Player of the Year, Lake senior Lauren Lind, and Gibsonburg senior Whitney Mathia.
Cardinal Stritch senior Jessica Turner-Smith is a second team choice. D-III honorable mention choices include Stritch junior Alex Blazevich, Genoa sophomore Alyssa Meis, Gibsonburg senior Katie Jones, Woodmore junior Elisha Stone, Lake sophomore Kaysie Brittenham, and Stritch senior Julie Long.
Northwood has two selections on the D-IV team — senior Andrea Brown is a second team choice and junior Shelby Gasiorowski is an honorable mention choice.
In D-I, Clay junior Lexi Laberdee is the only local player making the District 7 all-star team as an honorable mention choice.
