NRA certified pistol instructors will conduct an Ohio concealed carry class on Jan. 22 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Oak Harbor Conservation Club, 975 Gordon Road, Oak Harbor. The class, which includes lecture materials, indoor range time, and targets, meets state requirements to apply for a CCW permit.
Instructors are Eric Parker, a former Marine sergeant, expert marksman, and currently a police officer with more than 12 years experience, and Roger Parker, who is a safety expert with a B.S. in safety who has conducted safety training throughout the nation for private industry.
Cost is $90 per person for club members (includes $10 club discount) and $120 per person for non-members (this includes non-member range fees). Ohio mandates the 12 hour class time. Class attendees should bring drinks, lunch, and snacks, hearing protection, and safety glasses, plus a firearm and ammunition will be required to complete the course. For those shooting a .357, club rules mandate using .38 ammunition to prevent backstop damage.
