After 12 weeks, Pemberville Methodist leads the Wood County Dartball League with a 27-9 record.
Bethlehem No. 1 is in second at 24-12, followed by New Rochester (21-15), Stony Ridge (19-17), Bowling Green Trinity United Methodist (19-17), Pemberville Presbyterian (18-18), Bethlehem No. 2 (17-19), Salem (17-19), Zion Luckey (17-19), BG Nazarene (14-22), BG Cloverdale (13-23), and BG St. Mark’s (10-26).
PM swept BG St. Mark’s on the road this past Monday evening by the scores of 8-5, 11-1, and 10-3. The PM hitting leaders for the night were Rick Ward (11-for-15 with a 3B and 9 RBIs), Darren Pash (11-18, 2B, RBI), Daniel Binion (10-18), Tom Jividen (8-15, 3B, 5 RBI), Paul Spicer (8-16, 2-3B, 5 RBI), Chris Soals (7-15, 2B, 3B, 5 RBI).

As a team, PM had 29 runs on 65 hits. They are mainly a singles hitting team. All but eight (2-2Bs, 6-3Bs) of the team’s hits Monday were singles. Five of their triples came in the third game, including two by Spicer. Of Ward’s nine RBIs, five came in the middle game on one triple and three singles. All of his hits in that game scored at least one run. His triple scored two. He was a perfect 5-for-5 in the finale with two RBIs.
BGSM’s offense sputtered with only 21 hits for the night. The BGSM leaders were: John Kunstmann (6-12, 3-2B, 2-3B, HR, 2 RBI), Todd Kurfess (6-12), and Mark Kunstmann (3-11, 2B, 2-HR, 5 RBI). BGSM held a 3-0 lead through four innings of the first game, but PM rallied for four runs in both the fifth and sixth innings for the win. PM batted around in both of those innings (on seven singles each time), and never trailed the remainder of the night. ( — provided by Mark Kunstmann)
