The Wood County Dartball League held its 2011 Awards Banquet at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stony Ridge. The WCDL has held a banquet annually since the end of World War II with the first being staged in 1938.
Team trophies were presented to Pemberville Methodist and Bethlehem No. 2 of Pemberville. PM won the regular-season title with a record of 49-17, while Bethlehem No. 2 finished as runner up (44-22) and also captured the postseason tournament championship with a record of 8-3.
Darren Pash (PM) won the individual batting average crown, hitting .547 over the 66-game regular-season schedule, edging Stony Ridge’s Guy Elston (.545). Pash’s batting championship was his eighth in the last 12 seasons and his first since the 2007-08 campaign. He also led the league in singles with 183.

Roger Kahlenberg (B-2) earned his first RBI championship. He registered 88 for the year, 11 more than his next closest challenger, Tom Jividen (PM).
Other leaders for the 2010-11 season include Rick Nelson (Zion Luckey) with 88 doubles, Mike Farr (Bowling Green Trinity United Methodist) and Bob Krienkamp (Bethlehem No. 1) with 33 triples, and Paul Wacther (BG Cloverdale) with 33 home runs.
League officers for 2011-12 were also introduced. Pemberville resident Dale Fahle will move from vice president to president replacing Lish McIntosh (BG Nazarene), while Cheryl Kurfess (BG St. Mark’s) accepted the VP position. Rick Traver (BGC) will remain for his fourth full season as league treasurer.
