The O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champion Sprints will heat things up at "Ohio's Finest Racing" speedplant for a two-day entertainment extravaganza, Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11.
"Many fans throughout the season and especially at the last All Star race on Labor Day weekend were asking for a two-day event at Attica again," said Rex LeJeune, ARP's Operations Director. "The Spring Nationals have become a big part of Attica's strong racing traditions."
The Friday night portion of the Spring Nationals will feature the O'Reilly All Star sprints and the UMP Attica Late Models while the Saturday show will be an all sprint car event with the All Star sprints and popular 305 sprints.
"We are excited to showcase the 305 sprints along with the All Stars on Saturday night. The 305 sprints deserve the opportunity to be a part of the nationals..they always put on a great show for the fans," added LeJeune.
"These dates work well since it is Easter weekend and many fans are off work on Good Friday and can make a weekend of it at Attica," continued ARP Promoter John Bores.
The Attica Spring Nationals dates back to 1992 with Frankie Kerr leading the win list with four victories followed by Greg Wilson with three wins and Mark Keegan, Chad Kemenah and Dale Blaney with two wins each. Only one race was held for the nationals in 2007 with Lance Dewease taking the checkers.
O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions President Guy Webb is excited about the return of the two-day nationals.
"Being a part of the Attica Spring Nationals as a kickoff of the northern part of the All Star schedule will be one of the marquee events for us in 2009," said Webb.
The 2009 season at Attica Raceway Park will begin Friday, March 27. More information will be released soon at www.atticaracewaypark.com.
